A Witching Hour is the time from midnight to three in the morning (12:00–3:00 AM), when magical beings such as witches, demons, and spirits are thought to be at their most powerful. It is also a time when magic is presumably at its most effective.
A number of witches and warlocks, both magical and non-magical, believe that if a spell or ceremony is cast during the witching hour it will have a greater chance of coming true. This is mostly believed by witch-practitioners and not commonly believed by magical-witches.

- Contrary to popular belief, the witching hour actually occurs in a time period and in different hours. There are several different hours thad people think belong to the witching hour; some think it's at 12:00am, while others say that it occurs between 12:00am to 4:00am.
- However, most people believe that the 12:00am-4:00am time-frame are bad hours, and thus, bring bad luck.
- Hospitals and nursing units have stated that most deaths seem to occur during three-to-four in the morning.
