The Dark Coronation is a ceremony in which a new Source of All Evil receives the full powers of the Underworld. The coronation must be done in the presence of the Infernal Council. The ceremony is presided by a dark priest using magic from the Grimoire.
Process
Before the process can begin, the new Source must ingest the life essence of the Source of All Evil. The soon-to-be Source and their partner must be willing participants in the ceremony. A dark priest must be chosen, followed by the presence of the Infernal Council.
On the day of the ceremony, Demonic Guards take their places along the aisle. Human sacrifices will be made in the name of the new Source and their Queen or King. At midnight when the ritualistic chant begins and the Source shall be escorted in wearing a black robe.
A Dark Priest will start the ceremony with a dark blessing. He will chant the spell in the Grimoire:
- "May the world's evil flow through your soul tonight and grant you eternal darkness. Are you prepared to take the power and position of the Source before these leaders of the Underworld?"
Finally, the Source speaks the oath. Upon completion of the oath, the Source will be given the full powers of the Underworld.

Votum Sanguinis
A dark spell in the Grimoire. Votum Sanguinis is written in Latin and cast by the Dark Priest performing the coronation. The spell calls upon the evil of the world. The Evil must grant the Source his powers and the powers of the Underworld.

- The Seer, along with the Source's heir, was coronated by a Dark Priest in an episode of Charmed.
- Leah, the Source's heiress was coronated as the Source, by a Dark Priest in an episode of Destined.
- When Cole was coronated, Phoebe went through the process with him, meaning she was also coronated as the Queen of the Underworld.
